There are at least a handful of boats on my next build radar, each does something different for differing purposes. Thinking simple, though. My free time seems to have gone far afield. It is certainly fast and capable for its simplicity. I'm 6'2" and Cap'n Jon is of similar height and we both had issues with the size of the boat for our height when we tried it out. Tom rows it regularly and swears by it, he tows it behind Far & Away (Noman's Land boat) when he expeditions. Of course Tom is also very experienced in this sort of thing, he could probably make any boat sing. He's taken his wife out in it as well, but the stern sinks a bit. I would love one if it fit me better, to be honest. Simple, relatively easy to build (needs strongback though) and an absolute classic design. <br />callsign222https://www.blogger.com/profile/12261614816950499757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8508743712687076546.post-56506664206823366122016-03-31T10:08:13.780-04:002016-03-31T10:08:13.780-04:00Looking at that Gloucester Light Dory in the top p...Looking at that Gloucester Light Dory in the top pic, again. I've got booklet plans for it and I've made a scale paper model of it before, but never got around to building a real one. How does it stack up against the other rowboats in these pics with their more complex hull shapes?Trevorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08696831575654867432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8508743712687076546.post-81851023873807014482016-01-04T10:49:45.297-05:002016-01-04T10:49:45.297-05:00Great post!
